The St. Rose Purple Roses basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Ranney to 39 in the Purple Roses non-league triumph on Monday.

The Purple Roses now sport a 8-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Point Pleasant Boro for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 12. St. Rose will meet a Panthers team coming off a 48-45 non-league loss to Wall Township (Wall, NJ). The Panthers record now stands at 2-6.

The (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Neptune (Neptune, NJ). The Scarlet Fliers enter the Shore C - North contest with a 2-7 record. In their last contest, Neptune was outscored by Manasquan (Manasquan, NJ), 45-28, in a league contest.
