Rochester Rams (Rochester, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Carlynton Cougars (Carnegie, PA), 56-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Rochester upgrades its record to 7-4 on the season. The Rams host Union Area (New Castle, PA) to confront the Scotties in a WPIAL 1A 1 challenge on Friday, January 12. The Scotties come into the challenge with a record of 5-8. Union Area won 56-25 in their recent league challenge against Western Beaver (Industry, PA)

Next up, the Cougars confront the Avella Eagles (Avella, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 1 challenge, on Friday, January 12. Carlynton will attempt to improve on its 2-6 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 69-63 league win over Cornell (Coraopolis, PA).
