Monroe County Tigers (Monroeville, AL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Clarke County Bulldogs (Grove Hill, AL), 71-58 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Monroe County upgrades its record to 6-8 on the season. The Tigers host Thomasville (Thomasville, AL) to play the Tigers in a 3A Area 5 bout on Friday, January 12. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-14. Thomasville lost 63-41 in their recent league bout against Excel (Excel, AL)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Wilcox Central Jaguars (Camden, AL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 11. Clarke County will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Jaguars go into the bout with a 11-5 record after their 52-46 league win over Dallas County (Plantersville, AL).
