Crawford Pirates (Crawford, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Moody Bearcats (Moody, TX), 41-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Crawford upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Pirates host Bruceville-Eddy (Eddy, TX) to play the Eagles in a 2A Region III District 17 bout on Friday, January 12. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 6-13. Bruceville-Eddy lost 61-41 in their recent league bout against Meyer (Waco, TX)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Rosebud-Lott Cougars (Rosebud, TX) in a 2A Region III District 17 bout, on Friday, January 12. Moody will attempt to upgrade on its 10-6 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 6-12 record after their 45-43 league win over Bosqueville (Waco, TX).
