Gervais Cougars (Gervais, OR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Delphian Dragons (Sheridan, OR), 71-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Gervais upgrades its record to 9-0 on the season. The Cougars travel to Chemawa Indian (Salem, OR) to clash with the Braves in a 2A Tri-River bout on Thursday, January 11. The Braves go into the bout with a record of 3-4. Chemawa Indian won 66-39 in their recent non-league bout against Riverdale (Portland, OR)

Next up, the Dragons clash with the Blanchet Catholic Cavaliers (Salem, OR) in a 2A Tri-River bout, on Thursday, January 11. Delphian will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a 2-9 record after their 56-42 league loss to Gervais (Gervais, OR).
