Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Diboll Lumberjacks (Diboll, TX) and the visiting Newton Eagles (Newton, TX), saw Diboll's basketball squad knock off Newton by a count of 47-37.

With the victory, Diboll upgrades its record to 5-9 on the campaign. The Lumberjacks travel to Huntington (Huntington, TX) to play the Red Devils in a 3A Region III District 21 challenge on Friday, January 12. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a record of 4-16.

Next up, the Eagles play the Pollok Central Bulldogs (Pollok, TX) in a 3A Region III District 21 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Newton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 17-7 record after their 45-35 league win over Pineywoods Community Academy (Lufkin, TX).
