Noxapater Tigers (Noxapater, MS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Ethel Tigers (Ethel, MS), 62-60 in a league bout.

With the victory, Noxapater upgrades its record to 2-10 on the campaign. The Tigers host Pisgah (Sandhill, MS) to play the Dragons in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 11. The Dragons come into the bout with a record of 9-14. Pisgah won 67-26 in their recent league bout against Raleigh (Raleigh, MS)

Next up, the Tigers play the Nanih Waiya Warriors (Louisville, MS) in a 1A Region 6 bout, on Thursday, January 11. Ethel will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 70-24 league win over French Camp Academy (French Camp, MS).
