The Irvin Rockets basketball squad scored 38 points and limited the visiting Fabens Wildcats to 35 in the Rockets non-league win on Tuesday.

With the win, Irvin upgrades its record to 5-14 on the season. The Rockets host Patterson Institute (El Paso, TX) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, January 12. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 2-8. Patterson Institute lost 56-16 in their recent non-league bout against Fort Hancock (Fort Hancock, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Mountain View Lobos (El Paso, TX) in a 4A Region I District 2 bout, on Friday, January 12. Fabens will attempt to upgrade on its 1-13 season record. The Lobos go into the bout with a 4-17 record after their 47-44 non-league loss to Bowie (El Paso, TX).
