Kirtland Hornets (Kirtland, OH) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Grand Valley Mustangs (Orwell, OH), 64-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Kirtland upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Hornets travel to Cardinal (Middlefield, OH) to play the Huskies in a Chagrin Valley - Valley bout on Friday, January 12. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 2-9. Cardinal lost 69-46 in their recent league bout against Berkshire (Burton, OH)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Wickliffe Blue Devils (Wickliffe, OH) in a Chagrin Valley - Valley bout, on Friday, January 12. Grand Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 74-47 league loss to Crestwood (Mantua, OH).
