Warner Monarchs (Warner, SD) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots (Tulare, SD), 59-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, Warner upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Monarchs travel to Langford (Langford, SD) to play the Lions in a B Region 1 bout on Thursday, January 11. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 0-10. Langford lost 53-51 in their recent non-league bout against Herreid/Selby (Herreid, SD)

Next up, the Patriots play the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Rebels (Forestburg, SD) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 13. Hitchcock-Tulare will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Rebels come into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 47-45 league loss to Kimball/White Lake (Kimball, SD).
