The Merritt Oilers routed the visiting Sayre Eagles basketball team by a tally of 61-34 in Tuesday's non-league battle.
The Oilers now possess a 6-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Burns Flat-Dill City for a non-league battle on Friday, January 12. Merritt will confront a Eagles team coming off a 72-64 league loss to Navajo (Altus, OK). The Eagles record now stands at 5-5.
The Eagles (1-7) will now prepare for their battle against Cordell (Cordell, OK). The Blue Devils come into the Shortgrass battle with a 2-10 record. In their last battle, Cordell was overwhelmed by Carnegie (Carnegie, OK), 67-27, in a non-league battle.
