Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Santana Sultans (Santee, CA), 80-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Monte Vista upgrades its record to 12-7 on the campaign. The Monarchs travel to Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, CA) to play the Matadors in a Grossmont - Valley bout on Friday, January 12. The Matadors come into the bout with a record of 12-6. Mount Miguel won 59-28 in their recent league bout against Grossmont (El Cajon, CA)

Next up, the Sultans play the El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA) in a Grossmont - Valley bout, on Friday, January 12. Santana will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Vaqueros come into the bout with a 14-5 record after their 74-58 league win over El Cajon Valley (El Cajon, CA).
