Mount Vernon Tigers (Mount Vernon, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Quitman Bulldogs (Quitman, TX), 64-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Mount Vernon upgrades its record to 7-9 on the season. The Tigers travel to Harmony (Big Sandy, TX) to play the Eagles in a 3A Region II District 13 bout on Friday, January 12. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 9-7. Harmony won 67-23 in their recent league bout against Winona (Winona, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Winnsboro Raiders (Winnsboro, TX) in a 3A Region II District 13 bout, on Friday, January 12. Quitman will attempt to upgrade on its 3-18 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 57-35 league loss to Chapel Hill (Mount Pleasant, TX).
