The Mountain View Yellowjackets basketball team scored 42 points and held the host Newport Greyhounds to 37 in the Yellowjackets league triumph on Tuesday.

The Yellowjackets now sport a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Melbourne for a 3A Region 2 contest on Friday, January 12. Mountain View will meet a Bearkatz team coming off a 60-54 league win over Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR). The Bearkatz record now stands at 9-9.

The Greyhounds (2-14) will now prepare for their contest against Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR). The Bobcats enter the 3A Region 2 contest with a 7-7 record. In their last contest, Walnut Ridge was nudged by Melbourne (Melbourne, AR), 60-54, in a league contest.
