In Tuesday's league outing, the West Lauderdale Knights (Collinsville, MS) basketball squad beat the visiting Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS), by a count of 80-67.

The Knights (16-2) will now prepare for their outing against Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS). The Warriors go into the 4A Region 4 outing with a 15-5 record. In their last outing, Choctaw Central defeated Newton County (Decatur, MS), 67-54, in a league outing.

The Cougars now hold a 6-9 record. They play next when they travel to Northeast Lauderdale for a 4A Region 4 outing on Friday, January 12. Newton County will clash with a Trojans squad coming off a 87-69 league win over Leake Central (Carthage, MS). The Trojans record now stands at 13-4.
