The Royal Oak Ravens (Royal Oak, MI) basketball nipped the host Pontiac Phoenix (Pontiac, MI), 58-55 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Ravens (8-4) will now prepare for their test against Avondale (Auburn Hills, MI). The Yellowjackets go into the Oakland - Blue test with a 7-4 record. In their last test, Avondale got by Stoney Creek (Rochester Hills, MI), 64-53, in a league test.

The Phoenix now own a 4-6 record. They play next when they travel to Oxford for a non-league test on Friday, January 12. Pontiac will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 49-30 league loss to Berkley (Berkley, MI). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-4.
