Wingfield Falcons (Jackson, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Richland Rangers (Richland, MS), 54-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Wingfield upgrades its record to 1-16 on the season. The Falcons travel to Lawrence County (Monticello, MS) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Monday, January 15. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 6-13.

Next up, the Rangers play the Lanier Bulldogs (Jackson, MS) in a 4A Region 6 bout, on Friday, January 12. Richland will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 7-11 record after their 72-54 league win over McComb (McComb, MS).
