The South Portland Red Riots (South Portland, ME) basketball nipped the host Sanford Spartans (Sanford, ME), 69-65 in Tuesday's league test.
The Red Riots (3-6) will now prepare for their test against Bonny Eagle (Standish, ME). The Scots go into the AA South test with a 1-9 record. In their last test, Bonny Eagle was tipped by Oxford Hills (South Paris, ME), 64-61, in a non-league test.
The Spartans now own a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Scarborough for a AA South test on Friday, January 12. Sanford will encounter a Red Storm squad coming off a 56-44 non-league win over Edward Little (Auburn, ME). The Red Storm record now stands at 8-2.
