University Trojans (Waco, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Shoemaker Wolves (Killeen, TX), 56-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, University upgrades its record to 20-3 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Ellison (Killeen, TX) to play the Eagles in a 5A Region III District 22 bout on Friday, January 12. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 18-5. Ellison won 73-51 in their recent league bout against Killeen (Killeen, TX)

Next up, the Wolves play the Waco Lions (Waco, TX) in a 5A Region III District 22 bout, on Friday, January 12. Shoemaker will attempt to upgrade on its 19-6 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 9-14 record after their 61-35 league win over Chaparral (Killeen, TX).
