South Side Hornet (Bee Branch, AR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host White County Central Bears (Judsonia, AR), 71-67 in a league bout.

With the victory, South Side upgrades its record to 10-13 on the campaign. The Hornet travel to Sloan-Hendrix (Imboden, AR) to play the Greyhounds in a 2A Region 2 bout on Friday, January 12. The Greyhounds come into the bout with a record of 20-7. Sloan-Hendrix won 77-41 in their recent league bout against Mt. Vernon-Enola (Mt. Vernon, AR)

Next up, the Bears play the Mt. Vernon-Enola Warhawks (Mt. Vernon, AR) in a 2A Region 2 bout, on Friday, January 12. White County Central will attempt to upgrade on its 10-15 season record. The Warhawks come into the bout with a 19-8 record after their 77-41 league loss to Sloan-Hendrix (Imboden, AR).
