The Washburn Beavers basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Van Buren Crusaders to 31 in the Beavers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Beavers now sport a 4-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hodgdon for a non-league contest on Friday, January 12. Washburn will battle a Hawks team coming off a 58-38 non-league win over Central Aroostook (Mars Hill, ME). The Hawks record now stands at 9-2.

The Crusaders (0-10) will now prepare for their contest against Ashland (Ashland, ME). The Hornets enter the D North contest with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, Ashland triumphed over Wisdom (St. Agatha, ME), 59-45, in a league contest.
