Academy of Holy Angels Stars (Richfield, MN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Fridley Tigers (Fridley, MN), 70-66 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Academy of Holy Angels upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Stars host Richfield (Richfield, MN) to play the Spartans in a AAA Section 6 bout on Friday, January 12. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 7-5. Richfield lost 47-44 in their recent non-league bout against South St. Paul (South St. Paul, MN)

Next up, the Tigers play the Kennedy Eagles (Bloomington, MN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 12. Fridley will attempt to upgrade on its 9-5 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 5-8 record after their 61-35 league loss to DeLaSalle (Minneapolis, MN).
