The Mapleton Sailors (Mapleton, OR) basketball nipped the host Alsea Wolverines (Alsea, OR), 33-31 in Tuesday's league test.

The Sailors (6-7) will now prepare for their test against Triangle Lake (Blachly, OR). The Lakers go into the 1A Mountain West test with a 2-3 record. In their last test, Triangle Lake was tipped by Mohawk (Marcola, OR), 40-16, in a league test.

The Wolverines now own a 3-11 record. They play next when they travel to Mohawk for a 1A Mountain West test on Thursday, January 11. Alsea will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 39-11 league win over Crow (Eugene, OR). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-7.
