The Cooper Cougars (Abilene, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), 60-53 in Tuesday's league test.
The Cougars (10-15) will now prepare for their test against Coronado (Lubbock, TX). The Mustangs go into the 5A Region I District 4 test with a 9-17 record. In their last test, Coronado was tipped by Wylie (Abilene, TX), 61-43, in a league test.
The Westerners now own a 5-16 record. They play next when they host Monterey for a 5A Region I District 4 test on Friday, January 12. Lubbock will encounter a Plainsmen squad coming off a 79-36 league win over Cooper (Abilene, TX). The Plainsmen record now stands at 22-5.
