Douglass Astros (Atlanta, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sandy Creek Patriots (Tyrone, GA), 48-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Douglass upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Astros host Cedar Grove (Ellenwood, GA) to play the Saints in a AAA Region 5 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 5-7.

Next up, the Patriots play the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings (Columbus, GA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 13. Sandy Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 57-21 non-league win over Loganville Christian Academy (Loganville, GA).
