Elgin Owls (Elgin, OK) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Guthrie Bluejays (Guthrie, OK), 48-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Elgin upgrades its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Owls host Crossings Christian (Oklahoma City, OK) to play the Knights in a 5A District 1 bout on Friday, January 12. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 3-6. Crossings Christian lost 58-48 in their recent league bout against Altus (Altus, OK)

Next up, the Bluejays play the El Reno Indians (El Reno, OK) in a 5A District 1 bout, on Friday, January 12. Guthrie will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 11-0 record after their 75-13 league win over Western Heights (Oklahoma City, OK).
