LaPoynor Flyers (LaRue, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Frankston Indians (Frankston, TX), 59-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, LaPoynor upgrades its record to 13-7 on the campaign. The Flyers host Cayuga (Cayuga, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 2A Region III District 19 bout on Friday, January 12. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 13-9. Cayuga won 36-34 in their recent league bout against Cross Roads (Malakoff, TX)

Next up, the Indians play the Martins Mill Mustangs (Ben Wheeler, TX) in a 2A Region III District 19 bout, on Friday, January 12. Frankston will attempt to upgrade on its 14-5 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 21-4 record after their 71-11 league win over Kerens (Kerens, TX).
