The Lawrence County Cougars (Monticello, MS) basketball knocked off the visiting Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS), 56-38 in Tuesday's league test.
The Cougars (10-8) will now prepare for their test against Purvis (Purvis, MS). The Tornadoes go into the 4A Region 7 test with a 9-5 record. In their last test, Purvis went down by Columbia (Columbia, MS), 56-27, in a league test.
The Bobcats now own a 4-13 record. They play next when they host Forrest County Agricultural for a 4A Region 7 test on Friday, January 12. Sumrall will encounter a Aggies squad coming off a 64-30 league loss to Lawrence County (Monticello, MS). The Aggies record now stands at 6-12.
