With the victory, Zavalla upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Goodrich (Goodrich, TX) to play the Hornets in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Hornets come into the bout with a record of 8-12.

Next up, the Pirates play the Brookeland Wildcats (Brookeland, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout, on Friday, January 12. Leggett will attempt to upgrade on its 5-17 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 15-8 record after their 54-22 league win over Chester (Chester, TX).
