Quitman Bulldogs (Quitman, AR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Marshall Bobcats (Marshall, AR), 65-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Quitman upgrades its record to 17-3 on the season. The Bulldogs host Cedar Ridge (Newark, AR) to play the Timberwolves in a 2A Region 2 bout on Friday, January 12. The Timberwolves go into the bout with a record of 10-7. Cedar Ridge lost 67-51 in their recent league bout against Izard County (Brockwell, AR)

Next up, the Bobcats play the Izard County Cougars (Brockwell, AR) in a 2A Region 2 bout, on Friday, January 12. Marshall will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 14-5 record after their 53-30 non-league win over Manila (Manila, AR).
