Mississippi High School Basketball - Petal knocked off by Meridian

The Meridian Wildcats basketball team scored 48 points and held the visiting Petal Panthers to 37 in the Wildcats league triumph on Tuesday.
The Wildcats now sport a 11-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Brandon for a 7A Region 3 contest on Friday, January 12. Meridian will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 39-32 league win over Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-9.
The Panthers (7-11) will now prepare for their contest against Pearl (Pearl, MS). The Pirates enter the 7A Region 3 contest with a 5-12 record. In their last game, Pearl lost by Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS), 54-49, in a league game.
