In Tuesday's league outing, the Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest Javelinas (Pharr, TX), by a count of 74-14.

The Sabercats (23-4) will now prepare for their outing against McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX). The Mustangs go into the 5A Region IV District 31 outing with a 13-10 record.

The Javelinas now hold a 1-12 record. They play next when they travel to Sharyland for a 5A Region IV District 31 outing on Friday, January 12. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest will clash with a Rattlers squad coming off a 36-24 league win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 5-18.
