Pioneer Diamondbacks (Mission, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX), 69-19 in a league bout.

With the victory, Pioneer upgrades its record to 19-8 on the campaign. The Diamondbacks travel to Rowe (McAllen, TX) to play the Warriors in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout on Friday, January 12. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 17-9. Rowe won 41-38 in their recent league bout against McAllen (McAllen, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Wolverines (Alamo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout, on Friday, January 12. Valley View will attempt to upgrade on its 0-13 season record. The Wolverines come into the battle with a 3-16 record after their 36-24 league loss to Sharyland (Mission, TX).
