West Memphis Blue Devils (West Memphis, AR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Searcy Lions (Searcy, AR), 44-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, West Memphis upgrades its record to 10-6 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Nettleton (Jonesboro, AR) to play the Raiders in a 5A East bout on Friday, January 12. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 14-4. Nettleton lost 56-52 in their recent league bout against Marion (Marion, AR)

Next up, the Lions play the Marion Patriots (Marion, AR) in a 5A East bout, on Friday, January 12. Searcy will attempt to upgrade on its 12-4 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 56-52 league win over Nettleton (Jonesboro, AR).
