Nebraska High School Basketball - Ansley/Litchfield can't hold off Amherst

Amherst Broncos (Amherst, NE) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Ansley/Litchfield Spartans (Ansley, NE), 42-39 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Amherst upgrades its record to 7-3 on the year. The Broncos travel to Overton (Overton, NE) to face the Eagles in a non-league match on Friday, January 10. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 4-4. Overton lost 65-43 in their recent non-league match against Shelton (Shelton, NE)

The Spartans now sport a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Twin Loup for a D1 District 6 match on Friday, January 10. Ansley/Litchfield will face a Wolves squad coming off a 56-47 non-league loss to Chambers/Wheeler Central (Chambers, NE). The Wolves record now stands at 7-3.
