North Carolina High School Basketball - SouthWest Edgecombe thwarts Ayden - Grifton

The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) and the host Ayden - Grifton Chargers (Ayden, NC), observed SouthWest Edgecombe's basketball team knock off Ayden - Grifton by a score of 72-57.

The Cougars (10-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Washington (Washington, NC). The Pam Pack come into the 2A Eastern Plains challenge with a 10-5 record. In their last challenge, Washington prevailed over North Pitt (Bethel, NC), 89-64, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Chargers encounter the North Lenoir Hawks (LaGrange, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 17. Ayden - Grifton will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record.
