The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Calumet Copper Kings (Calumet, MI) and the visiting West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI), observed Calumet's basketball team edge West Iron County by a score of 39-35.

The Copper Kings (6-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Hancock (Hancock, MI). The Bulldogs come into the Western Peninsula challenge with a 0-10 record. In their last challenge, Hancock was tipped by L'Anse (L'Anse, MI), 58-35, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Wykons encounter the Houghton Gremlins (Houghton, MI) in a Western Peninsula challenge, on Monday, January 13. West Iron County will attempt to improve on its 0-9 season record.
