The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Clay-Chalkville Cougars (Pinson, AL) and the visiting Gardendale Rockets (Gardendale, AL), observed Clay-Chalkville's basketball team overwhelm Gardendale by a margin of 86-50.

The Cougars (16-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Etowah (Attalla, AL). The Blue Devils come into the non-league challenge with a 9-9 record. In their last challenge, Etowah trounced Hokes Bluff (Hokes Bluff, AL), 58-44, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Rockets battle the Jefferson Christian Academy Eagles (Birmingham, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. Gardendale will attempt to better on its 7-13 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 11-11 record after their 68-60 league win over Coosa Christian (Gadsden, AL).
