Alabama High School Basketball - Fayette County holds off Winfield

The Fayette County Tigers basketball team scored 73 points and limited the visiting Winfield Pirates to 71 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Tigers now have a 10-5 record. They play next when they host South Lamar for a non-league game on Monday, January 13. Fayette County will confront a Stallions team coming off a 75-41 non-league win over Lamar County (Vernon, AL). The Stallions record now stands at 11-10.
With the loss, Winfield falls to 12-9 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Carbon Hill (Carbon Hill, AL) to confront the Bulldogs in a 3A Area 10 game on Friday, January 10. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 15-4. Carbon Hill won 49-35 in their recent league game against Gordo (Gordo, AL)
