The Independence Colts were victorious over the host Wells Leopards basketball squad by a final score of 51-39 in Thursday's non-league outing.

Next, the Colts face the Owyhee Braves (Owyhee, NV) in a 1A East outing, on Monday, January 13. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 6-0 season record. The Braves enter the outing with a 1-12 record after their 58-40 league loss to Eureka (Eureka, NV).

The Leopards (9-6) will now prepare for their outing against McDermitt (McDermitt, NV). The Bulldogs enter the 1A East outing with a 5-5 record. In their last outing, McDermitt was dropped by Lund (Lund, NV), 47-43, in a league outing.
