The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Jackson County Blue Devils (Gainesboro, TN) and the host Macon County Tigers (Lafayette, TN), observed Jackson County's basketball team overcome Macon County by a score of 70-55.

The Blue Devils (11-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Monterey (Monterey, TN). The Wildcats come into the 2A District 5 challenge with a 4-12 record. In their last challenge, Monterey dropped by Smith County (Carthage, TN), 68-41, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the Clay County Bulldogs (Celina, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 13. Macon County will attempt to improve on its 5-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 76-41 league loss to Pickett County (Byrdstown, TN).
