In Thursday's league test, the Jefferson Dragons (Jefferson, GA) basketball squad defeated the visiting Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), by a final score of 58-41.
Next, the Dragons clash with the East Hall Vikings (Gainesville, GA) in a AAA Region 8 test, on Tuesday, January 14. Jefferson will attempt to upgrade on its 11-4 season record. The Vikings come into the test with a 13-3 record after their 76-72 league loss to Cherokee Bluff (Flowery Branch, GA).
The Purple Hurricanes (5-11) will now prepare for their test against West Hall (Oakwood, GA). The Spartans come into the AAA Region 8 test with a 6-12 record. In their last test, West Hall went down by Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA), 73-59, in a league match.
