Mississippi High School Basketball - Lamar Christian triumphant over Newton County Academy

The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Lamar Christian Lions (Purvis, MS) and the host Newton County Academy Generals (Decatur, MS), observed Lamar Christian's basketball team overwhelm Newton County Academy by a score of 61-20.

The Lions (19-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Sylva Bay Academy (Bay Springs, MS). The Saints come into the MAIS 3A District 3 challenge with a 14-4 record.

In their next game, the Generals encounter the Laurel Christian Lions (Laurel, MS) in a MAIS 3A District 3 challenge, on Friday, January 17. Newton County Academy will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record.
