In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Monroe Central Seminoles basketball team scored a big 54-15 triumph over the River Pilots.
The Seminoles (9-1) will now prepare for their contest against Cameron (Cameron, WV). The Dragons go into the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Cameron was trounced by St. Marys (St. Marys, WV), 48-40, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Pilots battle the Steubenville Big Red (Steubenville, OH) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 11. River will attempt to better on its 3-5 season record. The Big Red go into the contest with a 10-1 record after their 71-46 non-league win over Martins Ferry (Martins Ferry, OH).
