The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers (Salinas, CA) and the host Monte Vista Christian Mustangs (Watsonville, CA), observed Rancho San Juan's basketball team overcome Monte Vista Christian by a score of 68-54.

The Trailblazers (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against North Monterey County (Castroville, CA). The Condors come into the PCAL - Mission challenge with a 5-5 record. In their last challenge, North Monterey County defeated Marina (Marina, CA), 71-54, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Watsonville Wildcatz (Watsonville, CA) in a PCAL - Mission challenge, on Monday, January 13. Monte Vista Christian will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Wildcatz come into the challenge with a 7-5 record after their 73-42 league win over Stevenson (Pebble Beach, CA).
