The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the North Providence Cougars (North Providence, RI) and the host Pilgrim Patriots (Warwick, RI), observed North Providence's basketball team knock off Pilgrim by a score of 59-47.

The Cougars (8-1) will now prepare for their challenge against North Kingstown (North Kingstown, RI). The Skippers come into the Division I challenge with a 4-4 record. In their last challenge, North Kingstown dropped by Lincoln (Lincoln, RI), 69-57, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Patriots encounter the Moses Brown Quakers (Providence, RI) in a Division II challenge, on Saturday, January 11. Pilgrim will attempt to improve on its 6-2 season record. The Quakers come into the challenge with a 8-1 record after their 77-60 league win over St. Raphael Academy (Pawtucket, RI).
