The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Aliquippa Quips (Aliquippa, PA) and the host Freedom Area Bulldogs (Freedom, PA), observed Aliquippa's basketball team overwhelm Freedom Area by a margin of 67-26.

The Quips (8-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Rochester (Rochester, PA). The Rams come into the WPIAL 2A 1 challenge with a 5-4 record. In their last challenge, Rochester trounced Laurel (New Castle, PA), 62-29, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Laurel Spartans (New Castle, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 1 challenge, on Monday, January 13. Freedom Area will attempt to better on its 3-8 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 2-6 record after their 52-31 non-league loss to Slippery Rock (Slippery Rock, PA).
