California High School Basketball - Newport Christian sneaks past Capistrano Valley Christian

The Newport Christian Seahawks basketball team scored 39 points and limited the visiting Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles to 36 in the Seahawks league triumph on Thursday.

The Seahawks now possess a 2-0 record. They play next when they travel to Samueli Academy for a Academy game on Tuesday, January 14. Newport Christian will play a Firewolves team coming off a 26-23 league win over The Webb Schools (Claremont, CA). The Firewolves record now stands at 5-10.

With the loss, Capistrano Valley Christian falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Avalon (Avalon, CA) to play the Lancers in a non-league game on Saturday, January 11. The Lancers go into the game with a record of 3-6. Avalon lost 74-21 in their recent non-league game against Quartz Hill (Quartz Hill, CA)
