In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting East Rankin Academy Patriots basketball team scored a big 59-26 triumph over the Copiah Academy Colonels.

The Patriots (23-2) will now prepare for their contest against Park Place Christian Academy (Pearl, MS). The Crusaders go into the MAIS 5A District 2 contest with a 7-12 record. In their last contest, Park Place Christian Academy was trounced by Leake Academy (Madden, MS), 59-24, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Colonels confront the Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets (Amite, LA) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 11. Copiah Academy will attempt to better on its 3-15 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the contest with a 5-10 record after their 53-49 league win over Parklane Academy (McComb, MS).
