The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Crete-Monee Warriors (Crete, IL) and the host Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL), observed Crete-Monee's basketball team knock off Thornwood by a score of 44-24.

The Warriors (7-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Thornridge (Dolton, IL). The Falcons come into the Southland challenge with a 1-9 record. In their last challenge, Thornridge dropped by Kankakee (Kankakee, IL), 66-15, in a league challenge.

Next, the Thunderbirds clash with the Bloom Blazing Trojan (Chicago Heights, IL) in a Southland test, on Monday, January 13. Thornwood will attempt to upgrade on its 2-17 season record. The Blazing Trojan come into the test with a 14-8 record after their 54-49 non-league loss to Sandburg (Orland Park, IL).
